Collaboration and ‘That guy that wears a space suit’
Business is all about collaborating and creating working partnerships that fuel creativity and opportunity. At Tunafish Media we are always looking to team up with other people, whether that be a large company or local freelancer. Collaboration is essential in the creative industry and any other industry for that matter. Nothing of value is created without bringing different minds and personalities together, whether it’s an academy award winning film or a timeless invention.
This week we have been collaborating with City Folk. City Folk are an online hub which captures the culture of Manchester and everything in between. It is a multi-media platform set to be at the heart of the the city’s pulsating performing arts, music, and food and bar scene.
The website launches on the 28/05/2012, with the launch party being held at the fresh 2022 bar in NQ, a new creative space for exhibitions and club nights, and Tunafish Media are very much a part of City Folk’s launch.
We have already worked on several projects together including features on local bars and restaurants which you will be able to feast your eyes on in just over a week. This is the start of what will be an on-going and successful working partnership, with Tunafish Media very much at the foreground supplying entertaining and informative video content.
We also caught a performance of Justin Manville at The Angel Pub whose credentials include working alongside acoustic maestro Damien Rice. Justin is a very talented acoustic artist with a blend of folk lyrics sung to an indie almost urban guitar sound. The gig itself had a very intimate feel which could only be more intimate if he was playing in your living room on a Sunday afternoon!
A couple of weeks ago we interviewed and filmed a live performance of Paddy Steer, an experimental electronic artist with an eccentric and engaging enigma. Paddy has a very devout following of fellow eccentrics who want something that’s ‘a bit different’ and aren’t afraid to look for it. Other people have stumbled across Paddy by chance and never looked back and now worship ‘that guy that wears a space suit.’ Okay maybe not worship, but in a nutshell, if you catch his performance you can’t help but be won over. The first 30 seconds is a ‘what the?’ moment. After that it’s a musical out of body experience that really captures the imagination. If you want to see more including his most treasured instrument (a musical box with a rotating hand) then check out the link here:
